Welcome to Olivet

Olivet Presbyterian Church is a Christian Church, devoted to
serving God by proclaiming the Gospel of God's love for us in Jesus Christ
and by ministering to one another and the world in God's name.

Olivet is a warm and caring congregation of believers
-- large enough to offer diverse opportunities for spiritual growth
-- small enough to know one another personally.

It is our heartfelt desire to welcome visitors in a way that
will enable them to develop a relationship with God and friends
though Olivet.

"If we are not guests, then we are hosts in God's house, and we need to extend hospitality to others in ways that convey God's loving welcome." --Albert Connette, Pastor

Becoming A Member

Becoming a Member

Officially joining the church formalizes and makes public our faith in and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  New members are received at a meeting of the Session of the church scheduled ever other month to welcome, get to know, and officially receive newcomers into membership.

Members are received by profession of faith and baptism, by reaffirmation of faith, or by transfer from another Christian congregation.

The Session meeting to receive new members is typically scheduled on a Sunday evening at 7:00 pm.  On the Saturday before, Pastor Albert leads a new member orientation session in the morning that serves as an overview of the history, beliefs, and practices of the Christian church and an introduction to the Olivet congregation and its ministry.

If you are interested in taking this step in your journey of faith, please contact Pastor Albert.
