Ms. Kristin

Kristin is the Preschool Assistant Director and Lead Teacher for the 3-Year-Old Class. Her family moved to the Charlottesville area seven years ago after her husband finished graduate school.  She loves living in this area of the country, but definitely misses her extended family and looks forward to seeing them every summer on the West Coast.  She  enjoys hiking, long walks, playing piano and woodworking.  She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, and has held various positions from teacher to preschool director. One of her favorite past positions was stocking and managing a toy library, which parents and preschool teachers could access.  She truly enjoys the energy and enthusiasm of the preschool children and loves to laugh, be silly and dance with them.

Ms. Vicki

Vicki is the Assistant Teacher for the 3-Year-Old Class at Olivet Preschool and also provides Afternoon Childcare. Born and raised in New Jersey, she holds a B.A. in Marketing as well as a teaching certificate.  She has taught preschool through high school and enjoys all ages. After living in both Puerto Rico and Florida, she now resides in Charlottesville with her husband, Jay, and their two sons, Anthony and Vincente.  She loves being in the country, living near UVA and being involved in this active running community.

Ms. Travis

Travis is the Lead Teacher for the Preschool 4-Year-Old Class and has been teaching at Olivet since 2014. She and her husband moved to Charlottesville five years ago because they love the mountains and being outside.  They have three kids who keep them busy with football and Cub Scouts: a 5th grader, 2nd grader and kindergartner at Meriwether Lewis Elementary.  Travis loves to hike, garden, camp and spend time singing and watching movies with her family.  Before her 10-year-old was born, she taught kindergarten in Norfolk, Virginia for three years.

Ms. Ann

Ann is the afterschool program assistant.  She has been in Charlottesville for four years.  Ann moved here from Charlotte where she retired from US Airways after 26 years as a flight attendant.  Ann received her B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation from Georgia State University.  She is an avid UVA fan and enjoys cooking and fitness walking.

Ms. Melanie

Melanie is the lead teacher for the Monday/Friday Multiaged Class. She is from Harford County, Maryland and moved to Charlottesville in 2016 with her husband and two children (ages seven and ten) to be closer to family. Melanie graduated from Towson State University in Towson, Maryland in 2001. She has been teaching for seventeen years and has taught both elementary and preschool aged children.  Melanie enjoys reading, crafting and spending time with family and friends.
